Last Wednesday night at the Annual Federation Square Wine Awards 2008/09, Bellarine Estate’s 2007 ‘Two Wives’ Shiraz received two highly sought awards at the Sixth Annual Fed Square Wine Awards 2008/09.

To celebrate these prestigious awards, we are combining the 07 Shiraz together with two of our previous award winning 2001 and 2006 vintages, to make a collectors 6-pack of our ‘Two Wives’ Shiraz. This limited edition 6-pack is at the amazing price of $180 (normal cost $220).
The 2001 vintage received the Chairman’s Trophy at the 2003 Le Concours Des Vins, while the 2006 vintage was awarded category winner in Winestate Magazine’s World’s Greatest Shiraz Challenge 2008. This recent win at the Federation Square Wine Awards enhances the winery’s reputation as a first class shiraz producer.

This is a seriously complex cool climate Shiraz. A bright powerful nose of black berries, blue berries, sandalwood, black peppercorns, and dried oregano, with subtle vanilla spiced oak with smoked charcuterie(meats) overtones. The palate has all the style of posh spice with the suppleness and roundness of Kylie!!! It displays a palate of bright tightly bound fruit characters of red, blue and black baked fruits, with a structured savoury flavour-laden mid palate all supported by fine tannin, giving a long and satisfying structured finish. Deserves to be decanted to drink now, or cellared for 8 – 10 years to truly blossom!
